"He spent all his spare time reading, asking questions, going into chat rooms ... he wanted to be great at this," said Greg Black , owner of Mountain Wings Hang Gliding in Ellenville, N.Y., one of the Fairfield native's instructors. "He'd say how peaceful it was -- it was his little piece of heaven," said Beth Stoller , a business associate from Trumbull.
