The Connecticut Mirror took an in-depth look at income brackets in Connecticut from 2007 to 2013 and they found that there are more higher income and lower income households, which means that the middle class is shrinking. In Fairfield, 28.5 percent of households earned a yearly income of $200,000 or more in 2013, and that rate was at 22.5 percent in 2007.
