One person has died after being struck by a Metro-North commuter train Wednesday afternoon near the Fairfield Metro station. According to Fairfield police, a Metro-North engineer reported leaving the Fairfield Metro station around 3:40 p.m. The engineer told police he noticed a person standing on the side of the tracks east of Black Rock Turnpike.
