GE's EU Win Is Biggest Step In Its Industrial Pivot

The Fairfield, Conn.-based industrial conglomerate won regulators' approval after eight months of negotiations, during which it agreed to sell off parts of Alstom's heavy-duty gas turbines business to Italy's Ansaldo Energia. General Electric also will sell off Alstom's service contracts for 34 installed turbines as well as its U.S.-based Power Systems Manufacturing unit.
