What GE May Give Up Now To Clinch Alstom Power Deal

Citing two sources familiar with the matter, Reuters reported that the Fairfield, Conn.-based conglomerate offered concessions to the European Commission, the EU's executive branch, in order to alleviate their competition concerns about GE's biggest-ever purchase. One source said that GE offered to divest some research and development units as well as some manufacturing and services activities worldwide, including one Switzerland-based facility and Alstom's power systems manufacturing unit, according to Reuters.
