Injured Barred Owl Rescued in Fairfield

Quick action by two visitors to a Connecticut Audubon Society sanctuary in Fairfield and by Connecticut Audubon staff helped save a Barred Owl that had injured a wing most likely while hunting for food. On Saturday, two people who were hiking at the Larsen Sanctuary, which is adjacent to Connecticut Audubon's Center at Fairfield, stopped at the center's nature store and showed the staff a video they had just taken of the owl.

Letter: Hwang, Kupchick Serve Fairfield Well

As an active member of the Fairfield community for many years, I've had the pleasure of working with both State Rep. Tony Hwang, and State Rep. Brenda Kupchick, including serving alongside Kupchick when she was a member of the Fairfield Board of Education. During their years of service to Fairfield, both have demonstrated common-sense leadership that's grounded in fiscal responsibility.

Fairfield Letter: Cristin McCarthy Vahey Is A Proven Leader

With Election Day soon approaching on Tuesday, Nov. 4, I strongly encourage all voting residents in the 133rd State Representative District to vote for Cristin McCarthy Vahey. While Cristin McCarthy Vahey has proven herself as a hard-working Selectman who always does her homework and asks the tough questions, Fairfield will be better served by having a strong and empathetic leader like Cristin McCarthy Vahey representing our needs in Hartford - especially in this tough economy with various state issues affecting Fairfield residents.
