A Fairfield woman who was struck by a vehicle while crossing Black Rock Turnpike was issued a citation for reckless use of a highway by a pedestrian, police said. On Thursday, Oct. 30, the woman left Waggies, a dog-grooming salon, and began crossing the road outside of a sidewalk while carrying a cup of coffee and her purse, police said.
