FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- A raccoon and a bat and found dead in town have tested positive for rabies, Fairfield Animal Control reported Friday, Dec. 5, The state completed tests on the dead bat, found Nov. 29 in a Springer Road home, and the raccoon, which was either killed or found on Nov. 30 a Woodside Circle resident's Coonhound.
