Teens' song spreads Sandy Hook message, benefits nonprofit

A teenage vocalist from Fairfield and her guitarist friend have written and recorded a song inspired by efforts to prevent gun violence after the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown. Singer Amber Schaper and guitarist Jason Bangser are selling downloads of "Counting on You" for $1.39 each and have pledged all proceeds to a Newtown nonprofit that aims to prevent the causes of gun violence, according to a news release announcing the song.
