Through the end of May, the state's unemployment rate is at 5.6 percent as 106,600 members of the state's 1.918 million workforce are currently without a job, according to the state Department of Labor. Some towns with the lowest unemployment rate include: Sharon at 2.8 percent, Canaan, 2.9 percent, Roxbury, 3.1 percent, Tolland, 3.5 percent, Granby, 3.6 percent, Easton, 3.8 percent, and Fairfield at 3.8 percent.
