Residential power customers of United Illuminating will see a 54 percent increase on the half of their bills that deals with electricity generation. The state's second-largest electric distribution utility, which serves 17 towns in southwest Connecticut from Fairfield to North Branford, filed the new six-month standard service rate with regulators late Friday.
