A Fairfield woman has been arrested in an insurance fraud case, accused of reporting that her Jeep had been stolen when it had actually been purposely set aflame in Bridgeport while the police report was made, Fairfield police said. Lina Ivette Corchado, 36, of Nordstrand Avenue, turned herself in on Thursday morning on charges of filing a false police report, telling officers that her 2009 Jeep Patriot had been stolen, police said.
