Man killed by train in Fairfield ID'd as Bridgeporter

The man who lay on the tracks in front of an approaching Metro-North Railroad train off Commerce Drive last week has been identified by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority as a Bridgeport resident. Modeba Keita, 32, of Bridgeport was killed when he was hit by the train heading east from the Fairfield Metro station about 4 p.m. May 28. The engineer on the train told MTA police that he had just pulled out of the station when he saw a man walking along Track 4. The engineer told investigators that he sounded the horn and applied the brakes, but the man jumped into the gauge and faced the train.
