Fairfield police have charged a Stratford woman with allegedly stealing and cashing nearly $4,500 worth of checks that belonged to a dead Fairfield woman, according to the Fairfield Citizen. The Citizen reports Valerie C. Gomez-Delavega, 34, of Woodcrest Avenue in Stratford, was arrested on a warrant Tuesday.
