Meeting set Thursday on I-95 rest stops in Fairfield

A public meeting to discuss the Interstate 95 service plazas, barriers and other concerns regarding the renovated Exit 22 rest stops will take place Thursday at Sherman School , 250 Fern St. State Department of Transportation Commissioner James Redeker and Paul Landino , developer of the new service plazas on both sides of the highway in Fairfield, are scheduled to attend, along with First Selectman Mike Tetreau and the town's state legislators, according to a release from state Rep. Brenda Kupchick , R-132. Residents have been lobbying for safety or sound barriers to be installed along the entrance and exit ramps bordering the rest stops, but so far there is no plan to do so.
