New assistant superintendent named in Milford

Jeffrey Burt , the assistant superintendent of schools in Vernon, will be coming to Milford in the same role on Aug. 1. Burt will be the assistant superintendent of teaching and learning, filling the vacancy left when popular local educator Michael Cummings resigned this spring. Cummings began a new administrative position with the Fairfield public schools on July 1. "Mr. Burt has a proven record of improving and strengthening teaching and learning in K-12,'' said Supt.
