Fairfield officials, echoing a declaration by state officials, at midday Monday issued a "state of emergency" in anticipation of a blizzard that is predicted to dump from 18 to 36 inches of snow on town overnight and into Tuesday. "The State of Connecticut and the Town of Fairfield have declared a State of Emergency as a result of the pending blizzard.
