"The State of Connecticut and the Town of Fairfield have declared a state of emergency as result of the pending blizzard," First Selectman Michael Tetreau said in a CodeRED recording at about noon Monday. Tetreau warned residents to make the proper preparations for a home stay of up to 72 hours as the approaching blizzard is predicted to dump up to three feet of snow with wind gusts up to 60 mph.
