The U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration awarded the university $605,000 to provide scholarships to students in its nurse practitioner programs. "There are not nearly enough primary care providers in the country, and nurse practitioners can serve that role," Meredith Kazer, professor and dean of Fairfield University's School of Nursing, said in a statement.
