Fairfield firefighters battled cold temperatures and slippery conditions caused by wind-driven snow as they tackled a chimney fire in a home Saturday evening. The chimney fire was reported at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at 199 Toilsome Hill Road, said Assistant Fire Chief George Gomola.
